Game developer · Charlotte, NC

I make games that feel good to touch.

Cozy worlds, tiny arcade games and calm, useful apps. I design, build and ship them myself, and I sweat how every tap and bounce feels.

  • NextSoft Landing: A Blob Life, my first commercial game, is coming to Steam.
  • FreelanceGame development for a story-learning app for kids.
  • LiveTwo apps on Google Play and five games you can play in a browser today.

Soft Landing: A Blob Life, in-engine footage

Coming to SteamSolo dev

Soft Landing: A Blob Life

You're small, a bit squishy, and you just moved to a pond town. Meet the neighbours, help out around town, and wander out to beaches, snowfields, rainforest and glowing caves at your own pace. There's nothing to fail and no clock to beat.

“the town posted a listing. you answered.”

  • Squash-and-stretch in code. Every character and prop wobbles with procedural animation instead of rigs, so the whole world moves like it's made of the same soft stuff.
  • A 3D pipeline for a team of one. Concept images become models in Meshy, then my own tools scale, pivot, place and check them in batches so five biomes stay consistent.
  • Robot playtesters. Capture harnesses fly through the game, record footage and flag problems like props you have to clip into to use.

THE NUMBER: a big counter reading 45,934 with a gold plus-one button
Press it

THE NUMBER

One number. Going up.

A deadpan parody of internet infrastructure: everyone shares one counter and every press is archived forever. It passed 45,000 presses in its first week, so I built bot detection, rate limits and six-hourly backups fast.

Apps

Calm tools for everyday life

Offline-first apps with big tap targets, readable type and no clutter. Two are live on Google Play under my label, Lotl Labs.

Braindump on a phone, sorting a messy note into tidy categories on a watercolor background
On Google Play

Braindump

Messy notes, sorted.

Type everything in one breath: groceries, plans, half-ideas. Braindump files each piece where it belongs and learns how you sort. Works offline, speaks seven languages, syncs if you want it to, and has no ads.

A household app for my partner and me: duties, habits, coins, power-ups and a weekly showdown, wrapped in painted fantasy art. Just for our home, for now.

Sidewalk Safari

A shared field journal for neighborhood pets.

Log the dogs, cats and birds you meet with photos, ratings and map pins, and keep a journal with friends. An early build I plan to come back to.

How I work

Small steps, real devices, lots of play

Ship early, then keep shipping

Braindump is on its 143rd version and GLOVEBOX its 92nd. I get things onto real phones fast, then improve them in small, tested releases.

Tuned by hand

I playtest everything myself and adjust in small batches until it feels right in the hand. Readable text, big tap targets and calm motion are part of the design from day one.

AI is part of my toolkit

I build with AI coding assistants (Claude, Codex) and image and 3D tools (Gemini, Meshy). I make the design calls, review every change, write the tests, and label AI-made art wherever stores and clients ask for it.

About

Hi, I'm Tyler.

I'm a game developer in Charlotte, North Carolina. I started out building tools for the retail company I work for (its online store and inventory reports) and for my own home, and I never stopped.

Now I make games full of small, soft details and apps that make everyday life a little calmer. My first commercial game, Soft Landing: A Blob Life, is headed to Steam.

Work with me

I take on freelance game and app work: kids' and family games, web and mobile games, prototypes and playable pitches.
